Trick-or-treat decorations and outfits that anyone can make on a budget

The Halloween countdown has started, so now is the time to carve your most impressive ornaments. This week I will be taking my little man to some local Halloween festivals dressed up and ready to go pumpkin picking and decorating to get us into the Halloween spirit.

There are a lot of ways to get creative with some challenging DIY decorations, such as scary outside door decorations, spooky crystal balls, and pumpkin carving to leave outside your front door. But as a mum on a budget stuck for time there are plenty of alternative cheap DIY decorations you can make with items found in the pound shop or around the house. If you want to add a little uniqueness to your home try making a planter out of a pumpkin.

DIY newbies and old pros alike can find inspiration in this collection of easy and cheap Halloween decoration projects:

Webbed coasters

Use a printed spider web as a stencil to add lines of  paint to a project. You will need to consider the time it takes to dry but the end product is themed placemat, perfect for your spooky dinner.

Pumpkin decor

Each year we take the time out to create some fun looking pumpkin carving decor but the downfall to this it can be times consuming and irritating when you have failed and wasted a pumpkin. This year I wanted to get my one year old involved with the pumpkin decorations,Obviously pumpkin carving equipment was out the question so we got savvy with stickers he really enjoyed being able to get involved and playing with the stickers. Top tip though do not put your pumpkin stickers out in the rain keep them in a covered area as they will peel!
